I had organised most of my PDFs into various subfolders. I finished a work-session, synced my account, and closed down Mendeley.
I have now opened Mendeley on a different device and nearly all of my subfolders have gone. The PDFs appear to exist but are all unsorted now. I tried syncing again but that has done nothing. I have a computer at work that I am afraid to open mendeley on that now because that is the last device I used where I know my subfolders existed. Not only should the subfolders not have been deleted in the first place, I now don't know how to open Mendeley at work without everything auto-syncing and me losing all my subfolders there as well.
Is there some way to open Mendeley without everything auto-syncing? A quick search appears that there is not and I have lost days worth of sorting PDFs
