Hi! For every website I visit (most of them are news websites) I get this message: "Could not detect bibliographic metadata. Create metadata below to enhance the quality of this resource." I have visited the following sites (for my cyber security paper):

Your program is great for when I have PDFs, but websites with clear authors, dates, and other information it really lacks. At the very least it would be so helpful if you would put the options for author, date, or journal input on your website button.

"...and stay logged in"
Last time I logged into Mendeley in Firefox 42.0 (as I was using Save to Mendeley to save an article), I checked the Stay logged in box. Today, when I try to save another article, I'm no longer asked to log in (good), but the article isn't saved. Instead I'm brought to a vertical gray screen, like one sees when an article is saved, except it's empty. Syncing my Mendeley Desktop, I see that nothing was saved.
I switched to Chrome 46.0.2490.86, installed the Web Importer, and everything works fine, once I log in. The problem is confined to Firefox.
I can't even access mendeley.com through Firefox ("The page isn't redirecting properly"). Again, no problem in Chrome.
It seems that my effort to keep logged in was a failure. There's probably some lethal cookie I need to delete, yes?

Problems using web importer
Hi,
I am using Mendeley with mac OS X El Capitan which I recently upgraded to. I also have begun to use Adblock plus.
I am now unable to use the web importer to transfer citations from pubmed. The dialogue box opens but the "add to" box which should load the available folders does not work. I have tried removing and re-installing the web importer and the mendeley desktop but nothing works.

Email warning about lack of syncing
Hi,
I have gotten an email saying: "We wanted to tell you about some Mendeley features but noticed you haven't synced Mendeley Desktop yet. If you need any help getting setup, you can contact our friendly..." I've been using Mendeley a bit, but it is unclear how I know that Mendeley is synced. I've checked the FAQs, which seem to say it happens automatically, and I have 1,592 articles on both the web version and the desktop version. Can you help Mendeley sync properly with me?

Stopping Mendeley from renaming pdfs
Hi -- I prefer not to rename my pdfs and keep them with names I've given them. However my pdfs are now being renamed at the stage that they are sync'd to Mendeley Web. I'm not sure how long this has been happening for. Both on my desktop and laptop computers the preferences are set to *not* rename document files (unchecked). As I add a pdf to an entry on one or the other of these (by using the 'add file' option in the Details pane) it initially uploads with the name I've given the file (e.g. Smith_1989_Auctions.pdf). Then when I sync and look at the entry on the Web library, the name has been changed (to, in this case 1989-Auctions_The_...) and then when I do the sync on my laptop or desktop to attach the file in the other location, it gives it the standard name as if it had been renamed (Smith - 1989 - Auctions The ...), with the effect that the laptop and desktop versions have different file names. If I upload it direct to the web library and sync download to the desktop & laptop, they both get the 'standard' name (with the web version again as 1989-Auctions...). My laptop and desktop are both Macs, laptop is OSX 10.11.1, desktop is OSX 10.9.5, both are running Mendeley Version 1.15. Is there any way to stop this happening? -- thanks.

web importer where? how? chrome doesnt show anything to install/download
Hi, I press the yellow 'install the web importer' box, it takes me to a page that tells me ABOUT the web importer but there is no button, no download file, nothing obvious, the instructions go on about 'view' there is nothing I can see anywhere in chrome that says 'view' please can someone put EXACT instructions for chrome - or is it yet another of the blocked java/flash things in which case please update mendeley!

Importing tags from Endnote
I have tried about 10 different ways to get my keywords from Endnote into tags in Mendeley, without success. I have put them different fields in Endnote (keywords, labels, etc), I’ve exported in different formats (Endnote xml, RIS, etc), but all to no avail.
I am wanting to move over 6500 references, but unless I can get this to work, I won’t be able to use Mendeley.
Any suggestions?

Et al in the bibligraphy- CSL editor
I have tried to find a good thread on this as it appears many, many people have had similar problems but have had no luck. I CANNOT get the "et al" to work in my bibliography. In the CSL editor, no matter what I try it will not show up in the example citations- it either shows just a few authors or all of them, never with an "et al."
What am I supposed to do?

When i try to insert a citation I get a textbox with the heading "Convert file". what is it for? And if I choose any of the options I get lots of stuff included in my document. If I don't, then the citation is not added at the end of the document.

"Recently Read" announcement
Every time I log into my Mendeley Web Library I get the announcement about the "new" feature - "Recently Read". For two months. Every time. I dismiss it, but it is back at the next log in. It is not a big problem but terribly annoying.

Limited metadata fields in Web version
Is there any way to add more fields to the Web importer interface, so that we can save bibliographic info more easily as we go (without opening the full desktop app)? There are only a few available fields at the moment, and they are quite limiting.
