I find it unfortunate that when I tried to provide branch I am in, only few others well provided and I was not allowed to provide mine.
Even I had no button "send signal about missing institution/branch", so you could collect data bout branches/institutions. Without this your service has no change to figure out.
Example use case scenario:
* I tried to provide "Google Switzerland GmbH" as my current institution
* only Google Inc in Mountain view or Ireland were acceptable by field.
The other use case to consider is when one institution is referred by multiple aliases.
For example my prior institution, Polish Japanese Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw, Poland, change it's name in mean time and now people refer to it via both: old and new name.
