Getting "Sorry, no documents were detected on this page." when trying to use "Import to Mendeley"

I've used Mendeley for years without any problems. Recently, I updated my browser to FireFox 47.0 and I have been unable to use the Mendeley web importer. It doesn't matter what type of reference I am trying to save, I always get the same error message, "Sorry, no documents were detected on this page." I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the importer without any luck.

Bugs in web importer

Hello, I have several issues with the new web importer that haven't been there before it changed recently. They concern imports from NASA ADS and the use of the importer with firefox. I'm working on a macbook pro, OS 10.9.5. 1. Imports from NASA ADS do not extract the bibliographic data correctly. E.g., the field "Journal name" contains the volume and pages as well, and the pages are missing from the appropriate field. 2. All, or almost all papers imported with the new web importer are flagged for manual checking of the bibliographic data. That was not the case before. 3. The extracted URL from the NASA ADS paper entry now is always the arXiv URL. It should be the NASA ADS url, however. This was the case before the update of the web importer. 4. The web importer does not work with firefox if cookies are blocked in general, but specifically allowed for http://www.mendeley.com and/or https://www.mendeley.com. Which other web pages do I need to give permission to set cookies? It would be great if these issues could be fixed, because mendeley works great otherwise, and it used to be able to do all of these things before! Kind Regards, Elke

I get the error in the subject line when trying to save from the PASA website http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=9136472&fileId=S1323358013000416 Our university library has an account, and I can access the article online.

Sync between Web and Desktop broken

I have added pdfs of about half my articles in my library. My library has 835 items, so it's about 300-400 PDFs. Only a very small number of those actually sync to the web, so I can't access the PDFs offsite. I've uninstalled, and reinstalled Mendeley desktop, reset it, and restored it trying to figure out where the disconnect is. Occasionally, the website will sync back to the desktop and delete the records I have saved- it puts the documents into the archive folder... I'm not sure why or how, but I still can't access those on another computer. It does this whether or not I have the program organize my library or merely watch folders. The files are saved on an internal hard drive and not on Box or Dropbox. I've had the problem for quite a while and can't figure out a solution. I emailed support and hadn't heard back anything in a while, so maybe somebody in the community has an idea?

When using the Chrome Extension, there are times that I get a message saying "Sorry, we couldn't save this item to your library." I believe that this message comes up when a reference has already been added to my Mendeley library. If this is the case, could the error message be updated to reflect that? Thank you,

Hello, When I try to read a pdf downloaded with the web importer (on Chrome or on Firefox), it opens Adobe Acrobat Reader and I get the error message "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open 'name of the pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged" When I open a pdf downloaded by myself it is opened without any problems in Mendeley. I have update Acrobat Reader and it doesn't change. My Mendeley version : 1.16.1 Thanks

Importing from The Cochrane Library?

I wish to import a list of files from a search on the cochrane library, sadly the web importer doesn't recognize them. I tried exporting the list of papers into a text format but mendeley doesn't recognize that either. Please help me to solve this, since this is a fundamental aspect of the work I'm doing.

suggested articles old

The email I sometimes get listing suggested articles "based on all the articles in your library" consistently gives me article related to small fraction (some 160 out of 1800) of the papers in my library, mostly added back in 2012. If I go to mendeley.com/suggest, the listings for "based on what you added last" and "based on what you read lats" are much more useful. Is there any way to make the emailed results more useful? Or should I just turn them off? I saw some similar complains were previously voiced in this forum (~2014), and were closed as answered (though without any resolution useful to me).

Web importer downloads current webpage instead of pdf

Recently the web importer has started downloading .pdf files from every website I save a reference from. However, the majority of these saved .pdf files are actually the HTML files of the paper web page and not the .pdf copy of the paper. e.g. Trying to import http://journals.aps.org/pre/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevE.83.066318 using the web importer fails in this way.

Incorrect citation

This entry is used by some Mendeley users but it is completely wrong (except for title and authors): https://www.mendeley.com/catalog/audit-feedback-influence-intentions-health-professionals-improve-practice-laboratory-experiment-fiel/ This entry has the correct DOI linked (I got this in my My Publications list now), but all other fields are incorrect/missing (potentially they will update tomorrow): https://www.mendeley.com/research/how-61/?utm_source=desktop&utm_medium=1.16.1&utm_campaign=open_catalog&userDocumentId=%7B3aaed6f4-0128-354f-a41f-7d48423803ae%7D So, the first should be merged with the second, and the details should be updated. The correct DOI is: 10.1136/bmjqs-2015-004795. I have just correctly added it to My Publications via the Chrome Mendeley importer plugin. Thanks very much, Wouter Gude
